about me

My musical journey started at age 7 when I was drawn to the piano, and from there I began to pick up more instruments over the years, including guitar, drums, and ukulele. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where I was a piano major with a focus on contemporary writing and production. After graduating in 2012, I spent several years in Chicago writing music for ad agencies and short films, as well as some orchestral arrangements for the Chicago Symphonietta. In 2016, the sunny weather drew me to San Diego, and here Foster Music was born from a desire to inspire students to develop their own musical interests and voice. I believe every student is unique, with different learning styles and tastes, and my teaching methods reflect this. Overall, my mission is for students to come away from lessons with a solid foundation of the fundamentals of music, and a connection with music as an outlet for expression, creativity, and fun.
